Hi, I'm Katja!

I'm sooooo happy you're here.

Go ahead and sit back, relax and take a deep breath. Regardless of what's going on in your life, be here in this moment and let my words sink in...Perhaps grab a cup of coffee or a glass of wine (okay fine, water or tea works too) and let's get started. :)

Why did you become a health coach?

I received my Integrative Wellness & Life Coach certification 2 years ago because I made a promise to myself to not settle and to go for things that scared me.

I always loved leading an active lifestyle while growing up. Granted I was tall (I was 5'8 as a freshman in high school, I'm now 5'11) so that got me involved in sports early on. I loved the community aspect of being on a team and of course those endorphins kept me HOOKED.

After sports and into adulthood, things changed. It often does, for a lot of us.

We are told to "grow up". It's time to stop messing around and get a "real job". Work the 9-5, save, get drunk on weekends, find someone & get married, buy a house, have babies, continue working to maybe retire on time, maybe travel at this time & well, you know the end of this story.

This American "dream" sounds anything but. I got the 9-5 (more of an 8 - 6) and as you can imagine, the first thing that fell to the wayside was my health. Workout? Eat healthy? Meditate? Ain't nobody got time for that!

Fast forward 2 years, I went to a Tony Robbins seminar and that experience reinforced my hunch that there was more to life than the "dream" we've been sold. I haven't looked back since and want to share my perspective with others. I decided to get my certification 3 years later.

What is a health coach?

A health coach is someone you can rely on not only for inspiration but also individualized goal setting and suggested lifestyle changes. Think of us as a mentor and wellness authority. We're here to get you closer to your goals based off your unique needs. We're not here to change your life, we're here to work with your existing lifestyle and help you make long-term, sustainable modifications.

What can I expect from your content?

There is a lot of different types of content on here but it all rolls into the theme of putting yourself FIRST. Putting yourself first means you care about foods that are nourishing, moving your body to feel good and practicing positive self talk. When you take care of the basics, it translates into higher energy levels and therefore you can do more, be more and give more. All of my content shares this message.

Nutrition: I believe in a plant based lifestyle. I mostly eat fruit and veggies but incorporate healthy fats, grains, fish and nuts/seeds. I consistently eat this 80% of the time. But I also allow for pizza, donuts, alcohol (you name it) 20% of the time because well, that's life!

Fitness: I believe in an active lifestyle. I get a workout in 4-5 times a week and on my off days, I make sure they are active rest days. Whether that's taking a walk or going on a bike ride, I always incorporate movement.

Positive self-talk: This is the most important aspect in my opinion. If you don't act from a place of self-love or rooted in your why, incorporating a fitness routine or eating better will be short lived and not enjoyable. You will view it from a place of scarcity versus abundance.

Extra! I also incorporate travel, social justice and sustainability into my content. I believe self love matters in order to participate in a collective compassion for the betterment of all of us.
